I have been totally amused with and, inspired by, this photograph today! Could I please use it on my space to illustrate a poem I’ve written.
I’ve seen the end of the rainbow & here it is:
Friends, countrymen, all with opinions and such other as is common among men, lend me your ears and eyes but hold thine own nose.
Let all the unsung heroes of landscape & lawncare in Suburbia USA rejoice. There is hope!
A Pot of Gold
Sometimes as I wander this land to and fro
I’m struck with the urgency all brothers would know
A call to the White house, the porcelain room, the head,
the john, the tank and real soon
McD’s the pine trees anywhere please
Oh lordy just keep these fresh BVDs
Now what to my panicked eyes should appear
at the end of a rainbow a rental can near
Better than silver, better than gold
by no other measure the story is told
A refuge for the weary, now thru teary eyes
so near to the comfort that I’ve been denied
There’s no sweeter moment in this life as we go
than a relaxed colon, oh lordy, oh, oh!
jrw having fun, thanks Beth Marie
