Signs and wonders

Sometimes you just have to go looking on the brighter side.
So, I did and found signs of spring again!

The budding red maples are casting a pink hue
over the winter woodscapes as they
stretch and yawn in the
warm sun and southern winds.
It’s the perfect color for mother earth
in her expectant weeks of late winter.
The Father looks on with pride
awaiting the child of spring.

Searching high and low no matter where i go it always seems the same: shades of grey. Or, was that gray?

Like Jane, we have no proud Papa in Philly.  In fact, I just came inside from de-icing the pavement.  It snow and that was followed by freezing rain.  Tmo morning is going to be h*ll for those who have to get out there in it.  Lucky me, as I am not one of them.  That is a wonderful poem.  It makes nature so human.  Thanks for your words.  I love them.  Peace.
