Rose and Dandelion

Though the rose is more celebrated which is more appreciated? In the chubby fingers of a four year old the dandelion bouquet has probably melted the hearts of countless mothers throughout the years. Guys I’m not sure it will have the same affect in your chubby fingers so I must add this disclaimer: Don’t try this at home as serious injury could result. Leave the dandelions to the professionals or your four year olds.

I hope you have all had a great Mother’s day weekend!

Well I was just out taking photos of dandelions also today.. But I can see the elf was down under for this. You have manage to bring beauty to even the lowly dandelion.

  2. Rambling says:

Love the advice and what\’s more..when they first star your lawn they are so pretty. Then, it all gets ugly. Fast. 🙂

  3. Lisa ♥ says:

I love danilions. . and better yet when a little hand gives them to me all crumpled up or not. Its always a gift.Love yours too J.

  4. Beth says:

Dandelions do not rank among my favorite flowers. They do have a certain charm though; it is all in the eye of the beholder.

  5. ROCKET says:

J, every time I see one of your elfin views the same Steve martin line runs through what\’s left of my mind: "Let\’s get small!" On the other hand, besides 4 fingers and a thumb is Grace Slick:One pill makes you largerAnd one pill makes you smallAnd the ones that mother gives youDon\’t do anything at allGo ask AliceWhen she\’s ten feet tallAnd if you go chasing rabbitsAnd you know you\’re going to fallTell \’em a hookah smoking caterpillarHas given you the callCall AliceWhen she was just smallWhen men on the chessboardGet up and tell you where to goAnd you\’ve just had some kind of mushroomAnd your mind is moving slowGo ask AliceI think she\’ll knowWhen logic and proportionHave fallen sloppy deadAnd the White Knight is talking backwardsAnd the Red Queen\’s "off with her head!"Remember what the dormouse said;"Keep YOUR HEADWho is this Alice person and what have you two been up to down there in Goergia?

  6. Flo says:

I like dandelions. They\’re pretty and bright, grow all year without any care, and don\’t have thorns or anything unpleasant like that. A much underrated plant, if ya ask me.

  7. -Grumps- says:

Ontario came up with a law prohibiting the application of pesticides, and herbicides. (unless of course, you’re a farmer spraying hundreds of acres) The Dandelions are taking over. The exploitation of an enslaved four year old chubby fingered workforce is right around the corner. Stay well JCiao Fer Now

j2Grumps. If pesticides were banned in Georgia the state would be buried under kudzu within a few years. If you were able to get down I-75 or I-85 you would probably make a pretty quick retreat in order to get away from the fireants and, with most structures crumbling due to termite infestations there wouldn\’t be much to visit anyway. Heck, who needs Georgia or the rest of the Southeast USA anyway! On a positive note for pesticide banning, there should be some outstanding weed pictures around Ontario this spring. I don\’t think fire ants are there yet but they are migrating a little further north every year. Once they get there keep the camera handy. We call it the fire ant dance down here. It\’s pretty funny if you ain\’t the one dancing!

  9. J says:

j2Rocket, Ah, Alice! Good ole gal. She loves that mushroom tea. I always believed it responsible for her grand adventure. I mean really do you actually buy that whole rabbit hole story. The girl loves her \’shrooms.

  10. Horst says:

Did you know that there Dandelion makes good Wine.

  11. -Grumps- says:

THEY’RE HERE !!!! … I’ve been hearing reports in the news for a few years now of fire ants in Canada. Areas in, and near to Halifax (Nova Scotia) have been reporting of the European fire ant since 2006. More recently, reports of fire ants spreading throughout Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec, and areas of Ontario. The most in Ontario being in the Richmond Hill, and York regions of the Greater Toronto Area. Nasty little pieces ‘a work, they little buggers. I predict the herbicides, and pesticides will be back on the shelves within a couple ‘a years. Take good care J. Ciao Fer Now.

  12. J says:

j2Grumps-Archie. I wouldn\’t be a bit surprise it the pesticide laws were relaxed a little after a few years without these tools. When using the products READ THE LABEL! That is where the problem with these products begin. If a little is good, more is better. Wrong. I\’m totally blown away that fire ants are there. Twenty five years ago they were just making themselves known in the south & southwest metro Atlanta area. The darn things are mean and they will make you dance a jig if you accidentally step wrong..
