By the still waters

Blank you say for how long
and by whose calendar do you mark time
clean slate by mine and always day one
quiet guitar and piano wafting on the Sunday breeze
filling this August space with AC cooled air
stirred continuously
with the whirling blur of ceiling fans
comforts on day one
and tomorrow who knows
perhaps a peppering of anxiety
just to awaken complacent taste buds
Our fathers sharpened flint stones
and day one was every day a hunt
for food and sustenance
there are those whose day one today
has not changed much
Sustenance never leaves the
primary focus of day one
and there are others whose primary mission
on the same day
is to prevent their brothers from leaving
the despair of day one
Easy guitar and soft piano Sundays
quiet and comfortable
Lounging by the still waters

It\’s a stream of consciousness I have had in my thoughts too..different, but the same. Enjoyed reading yours so much, J. Looks like you and your family and me and mine are a great deal similar.

j@John Bord, yes we do. I haven\’t found one since I was kid but, I understand there are still occasional finds. Bartow & Paulding counties North of here the most promising sites.
