Flipping the switch

I’ve often thought that the First of September in Georgia  was analogous to turning off a switch. Tonight’s  low temperatures will be in the sixties! We’ve had record breaking straight days of over 90 degrees this summer. Combined with the high humidity it has been a boogger. I would attribute the misery to age but, even the young whipper snappers were suffering this summer.

We’ve about made another one. The fall work will be heavy but, much more bearable. We’ll rescue the fescue and put the warm season turf grasses to sleep take a short break around Christmas and start the whole ball rolling again in January, God willing. In the meantime we will be enjoying every single minute of the beauty around us and the privilege we have to enjoy it close up, even if it’s hot and sweaty.

You folks that get a little too cool during the winter will  have my warmest thoughts and wishes. Doggone I know it just ain’t right to wish cold weather on anyone and that’s why Interstate 75 and 85 run south. See ya’ll then.

Looking for a cool off,

j

As I type this, it is a nice 15°C or close to 59°F with bright blue skies. I do believe that our summer is coming to an end and we will be experiencing yet another change in the season. I do hope that you continue to enjoy some nice and warm weather. Cheers to you and yours!
